Sh. Sudhir Sharma, the first child of Pt. Sant Ram and Smt. Nirmala, has been able to hold a candle to his father and his success across various walks of life has proven that he has earned this reputation very deservingly. He is a perfect example of "less thunder in mouth and more lightening in hands"
His schooling has been from the St. Edwards school in Shimla and he graduated from DAV chandigarh. Concentrating amid active politics, he deftly pursued masters in business administration from the Himachal Pradesh University.
It is said, " the art of communication is the language of leadership" and Mr. Sudhir Sharma appears to have perfected this art. He is a polyglot; apart from the regional language "pahari" he speaks HINDI and ENGLISH fluently. His warm gestures and friendly approach paves way for an easy connectedness with the masses.
“Toil is the true knights passtime," an adage that invariably applies to his personality. His passtimes in particular involve activities that open the closed domains of the mind and result in creativity. Photograhy, Writing, Sports, Music and Travelling are some of the extra activities that add colours to his vibrant, all round personality.
The old saying, " certain signs precede certain events" is in consonace with his political persona. he rmained active in student politics till 1991 and dynamically held the position of secretary of NSUI, district Kangra. He was then elected the General Secretary of Youth Congress ( district kangra) in 1994. From the year 1996-2003 he held the badge of General Secretary State Youth Congress, district Kangra, meanwhile in the year 1997 he was elected the President of Kangra Yuva Kala Manch. In 2001, he graced the Indian Youth Congress Membership Drive as an observer for Jammu& kashmir. While in the year 2004, he became the observer Aicc for Disha 2004 programme for Gujarat and Pune and an observer AICC for State Assembly Elections in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, J&K, Rajasthan.
In the year 2003, his political career reached zenith when he was elected to Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. He remained Parliamentary Secretary, MPP& Power (H.P. Govt.), 18-04-2005 to 18-08-2007 and was elected again to State Assembly in December 2007 and General Secretary/ Spokesman PCC 2008. His magnestism hasn't been confined to the state and country but to overseas as well. His Foreign visits include U.S.A, Germany, Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, U.A.E, Hongkong, Thailand, Nepal, China, Singapore, Japan, Israel, Srilanka and Belarus. A globetrotter by choice, and so he has been able to find new frontiers of knowledge and widen his political ideology and has therefore brought openess to it.
